In collaboration with Loreto College Coorparoo, Ink Duck reimagined the iconic three-storey Crescentia Building, originally constructed in the early 1960s, into a vibrant and modern educational hub. This transformation seamlessly blends the building’s historical significance with the functionality and aesthetics required for contemporary learning environments.
To meet the evolving needs of students and staff, we expanded the interior by removing the old verandah and portions of the original structure. This allowed for the creation of larger, more adaptable General Learning Areas and office spaces.
New façades featuring expansive glazing on the north and south sides were introduced to maximise natural light and frame picturesque views of the surrounding trees, suburb, and the college oval. This thoughtful design connects indoor spaces with the outdoors, enhancing the sense of openness and tranquility.
Soft pastel tones were applied to the verandahs, bringing warmth and character to the building’s exterior. This subtle colour palette complements the revitalised façade, striking a balance between preserving the Crescentia Building’s heritage and embracing a modern aesthetic.
In addition the exterior underwent a complete refresh with new cladding, roofing and paint.
